About Me

My photo
Jessica
I've been taking pictures in my mind since I was a child, storing away colors and shadows and light in my memory. When I was 10, I saved a few boxtops and sent in for the tiniest film camera ever made (seriously) and happily spent the summer setting up scenes with my toys. While other teenager were...well, to be honest, I don't really know WHAT normal teenagers did...I was conning my sister into letting me stylize her and her friends and doing portrait sessions into really bad '90's hair. In Highschool, photo classes, dark rooms and film made me happy. I was awarded a scholarship in the fine art department so photography went on hold. Life happened. It's hard to drag out painting supplies if you're elbow deep in diapers and little boys. I picked my camera back up. And then we decided to adopt. I was a homemaker with 4 kids. There was no practical way I could help earn the overwhelming amount we would need to bring our daughter home from Russia. So I picked up my camera, taking sessions for donations. By the time she was home, I realized I had a business.
